Heroes 308

Best episode in the last two seasons, easily. I really enjoyed finding out more about Angela Petrelli–I quite like her even when she’s being evil and keikaku doori-ing people. We got to see more waifu Sylar, which was awesome. I like waifu Sylar. He should end up like that by the end of the season, it might redeem some of the shit of this season (sorry guys who want Sylar to just run around killing people again, personally I find that boring as fuck, it was fun in the first season but returning to that sort of thing at this point would be no good–plus wouldn’t you want Sylar to be your waifu?). I do not like Papa Petrelli. He’s just as annoying as his sons.

Whoever said this was supposed to be the season-saving episode was probably right. Er… rather I don’t know if this redeems the whole season, but it’s a step in the right direction for once.

Things this episode did right:

- Minimized the number of plot threads being shown at once (really it was about 3 major stories aside from the frame story: Sylar, the Petrellis, and what’s-her-face the firethrower)

- Addressed said plot threads in an interesting and coherent fashion with unintrusive continuity nods

- Almost no Peter, Nathan, Claire or Mohinder

They should have done a whole season just about the old crew and their scheming, would have been a lot more interesting.

I have no faith in the crew to produce something this decent again though. This season’s fucked and I hope the series gets canceled (rather than a show that actually deserves to be on like Pushing Dasies). I’m sick of this trash, just let it die, you ruined it way back in S1 when you bowed to executive bullshit to change the ending so you could get more monies.

  1. I wish I had a TV so I could talk about this stuff..but I don’t.

It sounds kind of cool though.

  2. The first season is really quite good. I think it’s available on Hulu if you want to watch it (I think… I haven’t checked to see what back episodes they have up, but I always end up watching it online because I always forget it’s on).
