February Magazines Part II

Might as well put this in a separate post since the other one was really long as it was. Quick post before 00 starts with what I’ve got so far, I’m almost done.

First the Saji and Louise stuff that was explicitly requested:

Newtype

P32-33 is a feature titled “The Deep Dark Abyss” with Saji and Louise’s voice actors.

{These are just the bits that the blogger felt like relating}

- I heard from Mizushima that from the beginning they cast us with these [latest] developments in mind. (Saito)

- The atmosphere in the studio is almost entirely the same as during the first season (Irino)

- When Louise said “I’m sorry” when she deleted her photos of Saji, Saito went out to buy Irino some chocolate.  But they ended up getting coffee together and became so absorbed in their conversation that by the time Saito came out and said, “This is for you!” and Irino opened it, the chocolate had turned into a sloppy mess… (lol)

- Andrei’s VA, Shiratori, started out in the back row of the studio during dubbing, but every session he’d move up one seat. And now on Saito’s right side is Irino and on her left is Shiratori. (lol)

- If, they were living normal lives up until [now] there’d just be a discrepancy in character (Saito) {er… I’m really not sure about this line, there was a big chunk of just kana and I’m not sure what the verb is…}

- Later, how much are they thinking about each other? If their feelings are strong they can pull through, but if they give up it’s over there. (Irino)

Animedia

P38-39 is “Hello from the sky” number 18 {I guess this is a monthly feature?}

This time the guest is Saji’s VA Irino. This feature also focuses on Louise and Saji. There’s an illustration of Saji and Louise in kimono.

The fact that Louise has become a pilot for the A-LAWS is because her body’s “that thing” is a plus as a pilot. {Less engrishy would be that her prosthetic is actually an advantage as a pilot} And so, Louise who was selected for combat, feels guilty that she mustn’t meet Saji. (Ayaka)

Saji’s CB favorability rating, number 1 is Ian and Haro, 2 is Setsuna and 3 is everyone else in the crew, Tieria’s at the bottom. {I’m still pretty bad with moon, so I’m not really sure if this is Saji’s ranking of the crew’s favorability toward him or the crew’s impressions–i.e. is this a listing of people who Saji has the most positive impression of or is this a list of people in order of who has the most positive impression of Saji–I don’t think it makes that big of a difference either way in this particular instance so yeah}
He’s probably bad at dealing with Tieria after receiving that beating. (Ayaka) {lol}

On p39 6 questions for Irino {just the bits that interested the blogger are recorded}

Q3: What did you think of Saji piloting the 0 Raiser?
A: Saji certainly wanted to drive it safely. When he started screaming, it was probably because Saji couldn’t tolerate the Gs. (lol)

And more Animedia:

A feature on the Meisters titled “Demons out! Luck in!”*

{*http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Setsubun – see the section on Mamemaki if you don’t know what this is}

Setsuna:

Current good-luck bean count: 5/5
It seems like his first and last five beans. Why last? Because he’s taking responsibility for CB. {Sorry, I really don’t get it}

“Mother Demon Marina”
Bean-scattering point: Setsuna needs a chance to sort out his feelings. It’s been announced that “Marina will sing” that song will appear soon. Will the song be a hint?

Tieria:

Current good-luck bean count: .5/5
Still getting over Lockon’s look-a-like Lyle, his happiness is weak.

“Mystery Demon Ribbons”

Bean-scattering point: Of all the characters, Ribbons seems to have the greatest skills in the art of coaxing. {ooh sexy~} But perhaps he depends on Veda for that too. In order to stop him the greatest extermination method?! {er… sorry I dunno about this last sentence}

“Mouth Demon Regene”

Bean-scattering point: To find out [more] about Ribbons’ party, he drew closer to Regene. {something like that, my moon skills are fucked today…}

Advice from the god of good fortune

As Tieria takes a more active stance in shutting down the Innovators from now on, the demon-brigade might open up a vortex {? I dunno, the last chunk of this sentence is really weird, it’s probably an idiom or something, I’m having no luck in looking it up}

Allelujah

“Older Sister Demon” Sumeragi, “Old Man Demon” Sergei, “Lying Demon” Hallelujah. Among these, returning to the depressed Allelujah are these surprising demons perhaps.

Current good-luck bean count: 5/5
Happy times.

“Old Man Demon Sergei”
Since Sergei is a man of character, he probably wouldn’t attack Allelujah. The problem is Souma’s battle capabilities. In these times of war, she can’t pass the time on Ptolemy peacefully.

“Lying Demon Hallelujah”
A miracle happened for the person hidden in the mysteries of the brain during 00 Raiser’s QBW [event]. Is there a possibility that he’ll return?

Advice from the god of good fortune
It’s good if Marie doesn’t turn back into Souma but…

“Tell us, staff!”

The Meisters don’t sleep in pajamas, in case of emergency they sleep in their pilot-suit inners {under clothes I guess?}. We’ll leave their off-duty preferences to your imagination.

Neil had been hiding his position and sending money to his younger brothers* {yes it is explicitly plural, the blogger points it out as odd so it’s not just a typo on his/her part}

p165 is this month’s favorite scene, and the Marie-Allelujah kiss from episode 7 won by a wide margin. {really? not Titeria?}

Responses

  1. They’re so hinting at the return of Soma. And from the look of it, I just might get my OT4 four-way-two person-conversation-dream to come true.

  2. arigato

  3. “Neil had been hiding his position and sending money to his younger brothers* {yes it is explicitly plural, the blogger points it out as odd so it’s not just a typo on his/her part}”

    Didn’t the director say at one point that the Neil and Lyle weren’t exactly twins?

    So… Dylandy triplets?

    PLOT TWIST.

  4. ow, my head aches at the Dylandy family.

    mangaka-chan, i’m with you on the OT4!

  5. Is it possible that the -tachi means something like “group”? I was thinking it didn’t mean “brothers”, but instead “brother and others”.

  6. @mai: It can be used that way, but the “and others” meaning is exclusive to proper nouns: if it’d said “ライル達” that’d be “Lyle and co.” but since it used the common noun, 弟, that makes “弟達” “younger brothers.”

  7. Oh XD Great then, there are others?! Triplets? XD

  8. It’s possible I guess. There were all those hints that they weren’t exactly twins at some point too. Though it’s also possible that it was just a screw up in the magazine. I just pulled down scans of all the mags this month and I think I’m gonna go back through the text proper and take another look at some things.
