Animedia / Animage April

-____- Stuff always updates when I’m sleeping. Well I’m up now. Since this appears to be pretty juicy I’ll be updating in frequent, small, chunks rather than waiting to post the whole thing.

[EDIT]
To sum things up:
– Movie or something pretty much confirmed.
– “If they survive the final battle” comments for Setsuna, Saji and Lyle
– Setsuna gets to confront Ribbons
– Lyle’s probably gonna fight Ali, probably for Neil’s revenge (yeah I know, where’d that come from?)
– Shit sucks for Al; they tease about Hal again
– Regene is the final boss (best be trolling, magazines)
– Mentions of Saji in the producer’s comments about Saji: 0
– Feldt gives Setsuna a flower confirmed for the nth time
– Patrick and Kati help out CB also confirmed
– Veda’s hinted at being back on the moon now (Official File is made of LIES), and hints at that huge ass ship 2ch’s been going on about

[EDIT again] Because people (not here) are illiterate, for the last time the 3 options feature in the Animedia article is the Animedia staff throwing out their speculations to one of the producers. In other words: Anew is still dead. Tieria is NOT Aeolia. Setsuna doesn’t become Marina’s manager or get it on with Feldt. But Al might end up being Soma’s slave :P

Source.

{comments from the beginning of the post/brief summary of the contents}

It seems like there really is going to be a movie or something after all.
Because the producer made some comments in Animedia.
The great spoiler-king [of magazines], Animedia, readily exposed Veda’s recapture.
And that in Episode 22 Patrick, along with Kati come to reenforce CB when they’re in a pinch.

Animage

A feature with a 2-page spread with the four Meisters, Saji and Louise, Sumeragi and Billy also have a 1-page summary-article. There are remarks about each of their relationships. Just the areas that caught my eye.

Setsuna
“I fight to live!”

Iketani P’s Commets {Producer Iketani Hiroomi}
• Setsuna and Marina’s relationship is stronger than it was in the first season, but rather than love, the meaning is more that they are both seeking companionship.
• As for Setsuna and Saji’s relationship, assuming they survive the final battle, they probably won’t continue to walk the same path.
• Setsuna and Ribbons. As we head toward the climax, the two will meet again.

Lockon
“I’ll snipe the Innovators”

Iketani P’s Comments:
• As the various missions pile up, especially what happened with Anew, Lyle feels [more and more?] that he is supposed to be a Gundam Meister for CB. During this stage he must be thinking a lot about the late Lockon. Thinking like that, isn’t a clash with Ali unavoidable?

On Allelujah’s page there’s the line “Marie is good….”
*Reference to Iketani P’s comments.

Iketani P’s Comments:
• In the midst of the world’s distortion, because an existence like themselves came into being, Allelujah maintains his intent to prevent this kind of tragedy from happening again. I imagine that Souma has similar feelings toward him.
She offers him “If you want to call me Marie, that’s fine.” but, they [can't?] understand each other better than before. {I’m making a leap in saying it’s negative, it doesn’t really seem to make sense to me in the positive and できているのでは seems like it should be できているのでは[ない] but there’s a good chance I’m just being dumb}
On the other hand, Souma carries an intense hatred for Andrei. How will these feelings affect her relationship with Allelujah is the point from here on. As far as Andrei is concerned, he must be feeling regret over having killed his father. How will he make up for killing his father? If he does will Souma be able to understand him? How will they meet and settle things? Perhaps in an incident on the battlefield–this is another point to pay attention to.

Tieria
“Please guide me… Lockon”

Iketani P’s Comments:
• With regard to Ribbons, Tieria thinks “If I don’t find a way to stop this man, the fighting will never end.” He might have information from Regene, but I think Tieria senses that Ribbons is different from the other Innovators.
Regene is embracing the idea that he wants to change the world by his strength alone.
He thinks that Ribbons’ position should have been his. {Fucking better not be his motive}
Regene thought Tieria was special, but doesn’t appear to be essential now.

Saji
“If we can understand each other we can build the/a future!”

Iketani P’s comments:
• Presently, Louise can no longer survive without nanomachines. Even if Louise returned to Saji, there is little hope of a bright future. Moreover, Louise, oppressed by her hate, killed Nena, and furthermore she despairs that nothing is borne from her revenge. Surely this event has left a big scar on Louise’s heart. {Mentions of Saji in Iketani P’s comments about Saji: 0}

P25-7 Sougetsu and Kamiya talk.
{skiping for now}

P28-29 Interview with Kawai
{probably not bothering with this until much later, it’s interesting that they’re interviewing the composer but the probability of spoilers is very low}

Animedia
{Just a reminder, as usual I’m skipping image/page descriptions for the most part}

P6-7: Feature is titled “Take back Veda!! To the moon!!”
In the comments: “Please pay particular attention to these two [Tieria and Setsuna] of the Gundam Meisters! When they take back Veda, pay particular attention to Tieria” So, surely Tieria is doing something in regard to recapturing Veda {no shit?}

In Episode 22, Felt says “I’ll give it to you.” to Setsuna as she hands over a flower, Setsuna accepts it saying “Understood.”

P8-11 Climax predictions for each character.
Sunrise’s Ikeda P responds to three choices. {I believe the idea being that the 3 options are the ideas of Animedia’s writers and Iketani P is just commenting on them}

Setsuna
1. Setsuna becomes Marina’s manager.
2. Setsuna and Feldt become all lovey-dovey.
3. Gundam undergoes another change!? Setsuna disappears into space.

Iketani P’s response: “Aside from the circumstances as to how he goes missing, three is possible, I wonder. The problem is Feldt’s flower. I don’t understand her intent very well but Feldt says ‘don’t die’ and Setsuna responds with one word ‘Understood’ ”

Tieria:
1. He sends his feelings for Lockon out through space
2. Joins with the Innovators
3. He falls into the past and becomes Aeolia

Iketani P’s response “It’s impossible, but 3 is interesting. I think Lockon is Tieria’s emotional key-person, but lately he hasn’t been saying his name very much. Because he knows what he should be doing now. After this, it’ll be interesting how he becomes the key to facing off against the Innovators and Veda.”

Lockon:
1. Anew isn’t dead
2. He defeats Ali, taking revenge for his brother
3. He defeats Ribbons, taking revenge for Katharon {Animedia, you guys are either really clever putting this action and this reason together or you’re really really dumb}

Iketani P: “2 and 3 are likely. Up until now Lyle’s had one foot in CB and the other in Katharon. If Lyle were to survive, how will he try to live on? That will be Lyle’s climax.”

Allelujah:
1. Marries Marie
2. Becomes Souma’s slave as penance
3. Hallelujah steals Souma away

Iketani P: “For Hallelujah to return again, 00’s strong GN particles are needed. It depends on Setsuna. To the very end, the one with “possibility” is 2. [Because] Allelujah killed their brethren. On top of that, he can’t achieve normal happiness, not achieving [happiness], that’s the kind of character he is, I think.”

Patrick “Just how far does your immortality go?”

Iketani P: “In episode 22, he gallantly dashes in to CB’s rescue. If he puts his mind to it, he can do it. If he does that much at least, surely you’ll be satisfied, won’t you?”

Mister Bushido:
When he’s defeated by Setsuna he spouts the sophism “Bushido* is about finding a way to die” {*should be obvious but just in case, not his name}
1. He drifts about in space
2. He resumes his training
3. Ashamed of himself, he withdraws to the countryside {Nice one, Animedia}

Iketani P: “3 followed by 2 would be [a] happy [end]. He’s the most troublesome character to be asked about what will become of him in the end. Until the end, he has nothing but his obsession with Gundam [left].”

Concerning the final battle:
“I wonder what’s on the other side of the moon? Is it just Veda? {Veda shouldn’t be there AT ALL according to the Official File. LIES, ALL OF IT!} After that, the final boss’s mecha? {Ribbons + Fangs, Ribbons + Fangs, Ribbons + Fangs…} Perhaps something 10x the size of Alvatorre from the first season appear?”
{Er, pardon my comment spam in there^}

Concerning new 00-related stuff:
1. Third Season
2. Movie
3. OVA

Iketani P: “Although it’s a work which can be expanded upon in various ways, without saying 1, I’d like to work on 2 and 3. In order to think about what comes next, first the final episode [needs to happen]. Please don’t miss it.”

{whoops, accidentally started calling Iketani P, Ikeda P}

Lastly a comment titled “Iketani P’s climax presentation”
• Naturally, Setsuna is playing a active role in the [finale] drama, and Tieira is also being prepared to take an active role in things. As Lyle too makes his way through the final battle, surely he is thinking of his brother. Allelujah fights under CB’s ideals, [even though] many have been sacrificed, because he wants to keep Marie by his side, so he carries out CB’s ideals so that he can find happiness.
Andrei also has to carry out the things he believed in, because he’s lost his father’s [guidence], it is impossible for him to not enforce his will. {I dunno something like that}
However, truly, each character has their own fully-loaded role. One-by-one, how will they prepare themselves for the worst? That’s the highlight.

• Until the very end (of the last episode) until after the ending, until the very last second, don’t miss it!
Something, is there, probably. {<–Blogger comment, s/he then adds that both Macross F and FMA’s movies were announced in a similar fashion.}

P42-3
“Hello from the Sky” featuring Tieria and and interview with Kamiya.
Tieria’s progression of ups and downs in the second season.
Ayaka’s comments.

Tieria’s started joking lately *Ayaka’s comment
{-____- same old thing about how Tieria’s changed and stuff}

Is he interested in Milena? *Ayaka’s comment
“It’s a feeling of camaraderie. Because her innocence is something he doesn’t have, it seems like he’s thankful for her [being around]“

Goal Scene *notes {not the same as “Ayaka’s comment,” I dunno what that means in context unless it’s just him abbreviating “Ayaka’s comment”}
“Contrary to what we’ve expected, the Innovators’ last boss is not Ribbons but Regene!? Who is it that Tieria and the others really have to defeat? The truth is in the story {wat?}”
{I dunno what’s going on here^ don’t take it too seriously}

Tell us, Staff!

Even though Tieria could access Veda he didn’t know he was an Innovator because he was sent out as a Gundam Meister and consequently he information given to him was [strictly] controlled. It seems he didn’t have the information “I am an Innovator.” {and Regene told us all this in episode 8, thanks Sunrise}

P43 Kamiya interview {later}
{wait, no this last chunk funny and short}
6. Which character caught your attention in the second season?
Goodman. He looks like a [small] town baker.

Okay, that’s it for now. I’ll update with the interviews later.

Responses

  1. But if Tieria dies in S2, the movie will be a flop because there won’t be any T-chan!

    • Most likely Tieria can reside in Veda just like Hanayo

      • I’ve been thinking about this possibility since /m/ made the death predictions. Since there is a possibility that Regene will die too, I’m kinda wanting for both of their conciousness to merge together and kick Ribbon’s ass.

        BTW Good Haro, where do you live?

        • Yeah, I’m hoping for that too. And HOPEFULLY Iketani P’s comments about him in the Tieria chunk are intentionally misleading.

          And I live in not-as-sunny-as-one-might-be-lead-to-believe Florida.

          • Hmm, most of the stuff in the crack trailer was pretty accurate so far. So we all know that Setsuna turning into and Innovator=Gundam and Tieria could possibly transfer to a Haro.

            As for the wedding scene. Hmm…I think it might have something to do with this pic.

            http://img17.imageshack.us/my.php?image=bandsofenergy.jpg
            cropped from here=http://www2.ranobe.com/test/src/up33573.jpg

            See how Tieria has a blue aura and Setsuna has a purple aura. I still don’t know what the hell that all means though.

            My crackpot theory is that Tieria inhabits Orange Haro or maybe Purple Bad Haro. If Louise dies, or something goes wrong with her and all the Innovators are destroyed that would leave Setsuna as the only lone Innovator, assuming he lives. Tieria decides to block out all access to Veda, and Setsuna helps him in this being an Innovator. They decide to look after each other their whole lives.

    • it can be only compilation movies

  2. Setsuna
    “I fight to live!”

    -Setsuna~~~~ You finally want to live! TT_TT

    Iketani P’s Commets {Producer Iketani Hiroomi}
    • Setsuna and Marina’s relationship is stronger than it was in the first season, but rather than love, the meaning is more that they are both seeking companionship.

    - Oh well, as long as Marina is alive, it can grow into love or something. LOL. All hail Setsuna x Marina (Wrong story. LOL)

    P.S. If they kill off my second favorite meister, Tieria, I promise I will do some voodoo on them =_=’

  3. >Felt says “I’ll give it to you.” to Setsuna as she hands over a flower, Setsuna accepts it saying “I understand.”

    MASTERS OF COMMUNICATION.

    • “I’ll give it to you.”
      What?

      • That whole scenario just seems like a very transparent euphanism for Feldt’s virginity.

        … Bow chicka bow wow.

        • I tried to be as innocent as possible.

          I failed.

          • FFFFF– Until I read the comments…

  4. >In Episode 22, Felt says “I’ll give it to you.” to Setsuna as she hands over a flower, Setsuna accepts it saying “Understood.

    I can’t help it, my mind went to a very dirty place. It makes be believe that Sets

    • *submitted before I meant to

      *that Setsuna and Feldt would have hilarious sex.

      • Most awkward yet STOIC sex ever.

        • But at least in S2 now they are able smile when they are happy dohoho.

  5. Patrick. Fuck yes.

    Se-chan x Feldt would almost be a crack pairing, but an interesting one. Cept there’s an epic troll on a forum who believes it’ll happen, and I’ll be annoyed if it does just for that reason lol.

    And let’s go get Veda! (which in my mind looks identical to DOME from Gundam X) Why do I get the feeling that the dead Innovators will be there somehow?

  6. Thank God that “Anew isn’t dead” line was just Animedia silliness.

    Sounds like Allelujah isn’t going to have much of a happy end. Does that mean Marie’s not coming back or just that Soma will always return intermittently? Doesn’t sounds like a good end for Soma either…

    And Regene’s bits sounded a bit “meh”, but hopefully there’ll be more to it than ‘Alejandro and Ribbons V2′ Still holding out for that Bro end to kick Ribbons ass…

    • All of the Meisters have earned a ‘good end’ (yes, even Lyle) but Alle-chan deserves one more than most. Him just being Soma’s slave at the end would suck.

      • Personally, I thought they were going with the “4 years of torture” for the penance of the killing of the supersoldiers, but I guess not. I still take issue with what he did, but I find it weird that he could be Soma’s “slave.” It just seems like a horrible relationship to have and one that neither of them should have to take, really. I’ll wait and see, I guess.

  7. ・最後の最後まで、(最終回)エンディングのあとの、
    本当の最後の一秒まで、見逃さないでください!
    何か、ある、かも。

    Ohoho, what could it be?

    (The movie announcement?) :P

  8. I don’t understand what there is to “not understand” about the whole Setsuna/Feldt thing. Giving Sestuna the flower that is supposedly one that do not die, is probably supposed to symbolize Feldts own hope in Setsuna being able to carry all their hopes and dreams with him even if Feldt herself would die. I.E don’t sacrifice yourself Setsuna — live on for all of us.

    Setsuna being Marina’s manager — I guess you can call him ore of a “gardener”. He tends her flower patch … he is the one that will give her views of peace a fighting chance.

  9. Patrick ‘gallantly dashes to the rescue’. It’s about time he got to be the hero.

  10. >something 10x the size of Alvatorre

    …over 500 meters? Extended couch?

  11. >3. He falls into the past and becomes Aeolia
    You know, that line interests me somehow, only because I would not be surprised if it were to happen, and explain Aeolia’s predictions and plans, but then I begin to discount the theory because of Tieria were to fall into the past, he’d more than likely find a way to negate the past all together to prevent what happened in the present.

    I actually liked the idea of Setsuna and Feldt ever since the ending of season one, but Setsuna and Marina intrigues me a little. I’d rather have Marina and Shirin but y’know…

    I’ll be happy with the ending so long as the meisters live and they fully explain this Innovator and Aeolia’s real plan. Saji and Louise are optional.

  12. “As far as Andrei is concerned, he must be feeling regret over having killed his father. ”

    Andrei ;_;

    “Presently, Louise can no longer survive without nanomachines. Even if Louise returned to Saji, there is little hope of a bright future.”

    Isn’t it sad, Saji?

    ““For Hallelujah to return again, 00’s strong GN particles are needed. It depends on Setsuna.”

    Setsuna FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF Seiei!!!!!!
    I want Hallelujah back…

  13. >Regene is the final boss

    That’s my speculation.

    • >“Contrary to what we’ve expected, the Innovators’ last boss is not Ribbons but Regene!? Who is it that Tieria and the others really have to defeat? The truth is in the story {wat?}”

      I think it seems pretty obvious that the final boss is Celestial Being and it’s idea of forcing people to change. No matter how bad the world was The Gundam Meisters were terrorists in the first season acting on orders on a super computer. During season two the Meisters (especially Setsuna) have seen how their actiosn from season one have destroy so many peoples lives. They as in Celestial Being was the distortion that Setsuna screamed he wanted to find remove from “the world”.

      I.E the last boss philosophically is Celestial Beings plan. The last boss Physically is Veda. remember that Veda is an unfeeling computer that will allow any attacks on anything it even thinks might threaten it. (see Allelujha getting his mission to murder children approved.)

      I figure that when Tieria and Setsuna battle it out with Ribbons and kick his ass they will capture Veda and try to take control of it. Taking control of it they will stop the plan to advance people into newtypes/Innovators.

      Veda will see THIS as an attack on it so it will lash out. Remember how it almost shot down and initiated the TRAN-AM just because Aeola was killed? What do you think it would do if the plan was threatened or worse itself?

      Imagine SKYNET but in space.

      VEDA now being connected with ALL computers on earth would take complete control and prepare to fire nuclear missiles and kill people on earth to force them to go into space. It would shut down all new GN particle suits leaving only Setsuna’s 00 and the old MS without GN particles able to fight. Destroying the super computer itself wouldn’t even stop it since VEDA would be connected to every computer on earth and most likile trying to infiltrate every humans mind.

      So Setsuna would have tp go TRANS-AM again and all his feelings and that of everyone on earth would reject VEDA taking over and they would destroy it’s “soul” in GN-space.

      For lulz Veda’s voice would sound either like Aeola’s or a combination of Aeola’s and all innovators.

      • “The last boss Physically is Veda. remember that Veda is an unfeeling computer that will allow any attacks on anything it even thinks might threaten it”

        You’re confusing Veda with Skynet. Veda isn’t designed to allow any attack on anything that it thinks might threaten it. It’s designed to carry out Aeolia’s plan, and will do pretty much anything that helps achieve that goal. If “destruction of Veda” became a requirement for Aeolia’s plan to be successful, it would order it.

        • Yes, which is why I said that humanity could refuse it and destroy it’s soul. However if outside parties try to shut it down to stop Ribbons plan which it now sees as its own, why would it let them?

          • First of all, humanity has apparently disarmed and stored it’s nukes. Second, again, Veda isn’t Skynet. Veda has a core that is the center of it’s existence, destroy or control that, and you destroy or control Veda.

            Really, it’s not so much a case of Skynet in space, as it is a case of DOME with different motives.

            It would let itself be captured and shut down if it would help Aeolia’s goal. Ribbon’s own plan doesn’t really enter into it, unless you think Ribbon’s truly took control of Veda by force. And if you think Ribbon’s gained control of Veda by force, I’m not sure why you seem to think that Tieria can’t do the same.

          • @Krono

            Disarm and stored their nukes… mean like how the AEU followed the treaties and didn’t have more MS hidden in the space elevator than the treaty allowed?

            But okay not nukes how about setting all the Orbital elevators on self-destruct?

            As for Ribbons taking over VEDA by force? No I don’t think he was, I think VEDA has very bendable guidelines. Saty it has three goals and three stages it’s programing says it must follow.

            1. Unite the world
            2. Control the world long enough to prepare for the talks.
            3. Initiate the talks and make sure Humanity goes into space.

            If these are it’s main directives and number 3 (the final goal) ruling over all other directives — then if Ribbons suggested another plan to Veda that would achieve it’s goal quicker and more safely — why would VEDA fight it? As long as the final goal isn’t jeopardized it will do anything it deices it is logical.
            Tieria COULD wrest away the control from Ribbons and theoretically convince VEDA his plan was better and would achieve it’s last goal safer and quicker… But If Tieria didn’t try this approach? What iof Tieria’s goal was just –> Stop Ribbons plan!

            If VEDA sees Ribbons plan as the best way to achieve it’s goal, and if Tieria don’t offer it another better plan it can look into… then logically it would see Tieria’s attack on Ribbons plan as an attack on the goal itself.

  14. Lol at the crack suggestion for each character’s ending. But I have to ask, how accurate is Animedia and Animage’s speculation? Or are they getting some of their info from the inside?

    And god damn it, I hope Louise doesn’t really turn out dead based on what everyone seem to be thinking. She needs a happy end at this point. :<

    • Needs yes, deserves? No.

  15. Hmm, if Regene really is final boss I’m going to have to rub things in some faces. Honestly, if he is, I don’t think it’ll be as direct as Corner/Ribbons final boss was/would be – not some evil, “obvious” opponent.

    I’ve been suggesting this possibility for a very long time now, for as long as I can remember, actually. I’m not sure how I’ll feel if it really happens, though.

  16. Regene as the “final boss” could always be a lead-in to the movie. I still have my doubts that Aeolia is truly dead and gone. He’s a dead guy who’s been missing for 200 years, yet he’s got a contingency plan for everything and he’s set up this whole spectacle for a purpose that still isn’t fully understood.

    Regene doesn’t seem to want power or anything, nor is he inherently evil, but he does seem to be motivated in part by curiosity. Aeolia’s space expansion objectives, the twin drive system and the evolutionary implications of the twin drive system seem to interest him. Ribbons’ world domination goals must seem boring in comparison. I can see Regene taking out Ribbons to make way for Aeolia as the movie’s antagonist.

  17. Bah, if Louise dies I probably won’t re-watch this until I completely forget that fact. It’s good, but it will leave a bad taste.

    Do whatever you want with the rest of the cast, but killing her…it’s just so predictable (see random Gundam examples) yet also so fucking annoying to contemplate.

    After all that crap I’m squarely in the camp which demands a happy (or at least content) ending for her. Won’t make the show bad, objectively, but I just won’t like it, subjectively.

    • I AM A HUGE FAGGOT. PLEASE RAPE MY FACE.

      {GH Sez: This is so not kawaii anymore. Enough of your Louise-bashing, take it to your own blog. I don’t mind if you post your theories or argue with people, but I’m sick of hearing the same shit over and over again.}

      • Read more fairy tales for examples on happy endings.

        • Ah sorry, I didn’t mean happy ending as in the traditional sense — I meant as in “she finally found that treasure she had been hunting all her life”. that her treasure wasn’t all that cracked up to be when she found it — that she realized she had pretty much wasted all her life searching for it — that her treasure itself might have a curse on it… How does that entitle Louise to more? Why should she get more than say… to use an example that will hopefully not get this post murdered — Tieria?

      • wow that is really mature “Good Haro”.

        If you don’t want to read it then don’t. I’m not writing this for you.

        Yeah, you commented on *my blog* I do have to read it. My blog, my rules. You can leave if you don’t like it.

    • kamille end for louise would be an ending for louise i could tolerate

      lol shit grammar

  18. HAHAHAHAHAthats funny ” i am a faggot” LOLZ

  19. Looking kinda LAST SAMURAI on the spoilers of Graham/Bushido

  20. I find AoS’s posts to be rather distasteful. His continued bashing on Louise annoys me to no end. I’m not really fond of Louise, but I still wish for good ending for her.
