Gundam Ace/Dengeki Hobby/etc January issues

Digest version:

- Nothing new or interesting in Gundam Ace except this month’s 00I which was pretty lame.
- 00N’s prologue appeared in Dengeki Hobby this month, apparently it just explained the format–00N has no main character or overarching plot and it’s not following a timeline or organizational scheme beyond “events in the 00 world.”
- MG GN-X announced
- Movie trailer with new stuff confirmed for the New Year’s event
- 00V War Chronicles started in Hobby Japan this month; it’s set after the series
- From 00V War Chronicles we learn that:
—two GN drives have been lost
—CB’s financial situation is not good
—As a result of ^ they’ve refit the 00 temporarily while they work on new Gundams
—Also, there was mention of a certian project going on at Jupiter, no details

[EDIT] Clarified some stuff about 00V War Chronicles.

Small bits of general info up on kouryakukan now. Hopefully summaries of the sidestories will be up soon (00N should be starting this month).

Gundam Ace:

No new information about the movie.
There’s a 2-page spread of Trans-am 00 vs.  Bushido’s Ahead.

P276-7 Feature on SE II, on sale 12/22. New cuts are shown.
Lyle and Klaus in a car, the Innovators and so on. {OLD!}
P278 A feature titled “The fate of the Meisters”
P279 A feature on Patrick.
The nickname “The Immortal Colasour”  that the person himself seems to boast about.

P280-3 “Chara Kuro!”
The CB members invited onto Wang’s cruiser are made to make food in place of the chef for some reason.
Then the Meisters dress up like pastry chefs and start cooking. {something like that, sounds suspiciously like the SD trailer…}

Marie is surprised that Allelujah can shell walnuts with one, bare hand.
Tieria asks “Setsuna, how many fish eggs should I put on this?” {er, I know it’s fish roe, but…I don’t think you can ask “how many fish roe should I put on this”}
And Setsuna responds “I’d say [about as many] as your average GN Bazooka blast.”
Allelujah reveals the hors d’oeuvres: a massive lump of meat, and so on.

{00I summary just went up–putting that in it’s own post because this is getting long}

Dengeki Hobby:

As far as models go, an MG GN-X was announced. {pretty sure everyone’s already seen this}

At the New Year’s Eve event a special animation with new scenes will be screened. {presumably for the movie, not the SEs}
Also, the OP and ED singers will be performing.

This month includes 00N’s prologue.
P136-141 Beginning with staff comments from Director Mizushima, and explanation of 00N which will be serialized from here on.

00N is without a specific protagonist, or a single overarching story.
It depicts events in the world of “Gundam 00″ without [following] a timeline or prescribed [order].

Hobby Japan:

The new series “00V War Chronicle (senki)” starts this month.

The title of the first installment is “Gun x Sword”
*No relation to the anime of the same name.

The story takes place after the last episode [of the series]. A certain project is progressing at Jupiter,
and Ian is working on new Gundams near Earth.
The 00 is also being modified to suit Setsuna, having awoken as an Innovator.

But, presently CB is low on both materials and funds, so Ian’s having a hard time.
Upon asking Veda!Tieria about it, he thought about trying to manipulate stock prices, but
if he over did it, they’d be reduced to a “simply criminal organization.”
Presently, only one GN Drive has been transplanted into the 00 from one of the other units. {forgot the last part :\}
A GN condenser is taking the place of the other drive.
While the 00 can start up, Trans-am is impossible.
And so a test of the “00 Gundam Seven Sword/G” armament was undertaken.
The new equipment being the GN Sword II Buster Blaster. {I’m being more of a dumbass than usual today}
“An enemy”
An approaching GN-XIII./A GN-XIII approaches.
“They might have seen that beam from earlier. I’ll destroy it.”
Setsuna destroys the enemy craft with the GN Sword II Buster Blaster.
They can manage combat for the time being, but Ian is fully aware of the fact that they need to hurry and develop new machines.

*They casually establish that in the finale of the TV series, they lost at least two GN drives.

[EDIT] k, so apparently the origin of that last line isn’t clear, anything by an asterisk like that (that doesn’t correspond to some sort of note I’m making on the side) is one of kouryakukan’s comments. While it certainly means that the statement isn’t 100% true/reliable, remember that the above is just a summary so it’s possible that the text has more details to further support the statement that s/he left out for brevity’s sake. I believe the missing drives were the two that belonged to the 00 in S2 (i.e. Exia’s and 0 Gundam’s) because of the phrasing here: “Presently, only one GN Drive has been transplanted into the 00 from one of the other units.” Shit, I left off that last part… fixing. Anyway, I think because they had to snag a drive from one of the other Gundams neither of the 00′s original drives survived (sure, you could argue that Exia R2 is a different unit, but I think it’d be phrased differently if they replaced the one from the Exia). Also it’s the 00, as in 00 Gundam, not the Qan[T].

[EDIT] Meanwhile, at 2ch:

    I can see the hilarious gags now: Graham becomes the fifth meister and setsuna finally tries to pimp himself a Feldt. A jelous Graham/Mr. Broshido could yell: SHOUNEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    You’re forgetting who is saying this line. If he is willing to count the grains in fish roe, don’t argue with him about it. Setsuna should have said a number for the lulz.

      I like the way you think.

    - CB’s financial situation is not good
    Thank god it isn’t, I was trying to figure out how they were going to make four new Gundams with no money at all. Not only that, but their bases were destroyed, their personnel was killed, and so on.

  7. Well, I’m finishing up the translation of the story, aaaaand…

    Fortunately for them the support organization of Celestial Being, FERESHTE, was in possession of a great deal of materials after the battle with the United Nations Forces. Before Veda was seized as an enemy and the UN Forces appeared at the hidden supply bases in various locations, a great deal of the supply materials were secured. Among them were also spare parts for the Gundams.
